About VillagesBuySell
A group of Village residents has decided to start VillagesBuySell. It is for Village residents and run by Village residents. The reaction has been very favorable. We hope you will like it.
In order for VillagesBuySell to grow and become useful and informative we need your help. Please tell everyone in The Villages you know. Please include club lists, neighborhood lists, and organization lists. The more people who know about it, the better VillagesBuySell will become.

Mission Statement
The economy in the year 2008 has been very difficult on all of us in The Villages, and we are looking for ways to ease the burden. We are spending less at the retail stores, eating home more, and holding off on any major expenditure.
As you know very well, The Villages is a very unique place to live. There is nowhere else quite like it. We have people from all over the country with unique talents, skills, and experience. Many of these folks are retired, but are still willing to help a neighbor or friend.
In our homes most of us have items that are perfectly good and useful; we just don’t need or want them any more. There is probably someone down the block or in the next village who would love to have it.
Picture this…you received a big screen TV for Christmas. It will need an entertainment center that you were planning to buy for it, but it’s too large for your space. The guy across the street belongs to the Villages Woodshop and has been doing cabinetry for 40 years. He’ll build an entertainment center that works for you, and take the TV in exchange.
WAIT!! You don’t know if he has that talent or is willing to do it or even if he wants a new TV. You check your regular listings from VillagesBuySell, and here’s a listing:
Experienced carpenter will build cabinets in exchange for big screen TV (352)123-4567
Or you could place this ad:
Panasonic 60” Flat Screen Brand New in Box Retail Value $1,500 Make Offer (352)123-7654
Or this one:
Panasonic 60” Flat Screen Brand New in Box Retail Value $1,500 Exchange for 42”. Let’s make a deal! (352)123-7654
In 1995 Craig Newmark started Craigslist. It started as a simple mailing list and grew into one of the most popular and helpful sites on the Internet. Unfortunately, The Villages with a population exceeding 70,000 is not represented. Ocala and Orlando will occasionally have a few listings, but it’s not convenient, and it’s not ours.
